Here are a few frequently asked questions
How long have you been painting and are you professionally trained?
I’ve been studying art since high school. After a few years of photography based work at the university I started to be interested in traditional techniques in 2015 after taking a portrait painting class at the ECUAD in Vancouver, Canada. I like the challenge of getting the likeness of a figure, it can be animal or human. (Anything but landscape, haha.)
What medium do you use?
Mostly I paint with watercolours and acrylics, sometimes I add coloured pencil marks. Recently I started working with clay and soon I hope to offer sculpted portraits as well.
How does the commission process work?
First, we'll discuss the details of your painting, including size, medium, and subject matter. Next, I'll provide you with a quote and a rough sketch for your approval. Once the final details are confirmed and a deposit is received, I'll begin the painting process. I'll keep you updated with progress photos, and you'll have the opportunity to request any minor changes before the final painting is completed.
How long does the commission process take?
The timeline for a commission can vary depending on the size and complexity of the painting. On average, it takes 4-6 weeks from the start of the commission to the completion of the final painting. If it’s a rush order that I can squeeze into my schedule I might be able to complete an artwork within 2 weeks, but please ask me about this in advance.
How much does a custom painting cost?
The cost of a custom painting can vary depending on factors such as size, complexity, and medium. I'll provide you with a quote during the consultation and deposit process. The deposit will be applied towards the final cost of the painting.
Can I request changes to the painting after it's completed?
You'll have the opportunity to request minor changes - like the color of the background - before the final painting is completed. However, any major changes will require additional fees.
Do you ship internationally?
Yes, I ship internationally. Please remember that by placing any order, you agree to be responsible for any taxes or duty that are required in your country. Unfortunately, I cannot take responsibility for delays caused due to customs or any mail theft or porch pirates lurking in your neighbourhood.
